Through Inspired Learning We Achieve Our Dreams

A A A

Here are our last two swimmers of the week. Well done to Will and Charlie. Well done to everyone for a fantastic term of swimming!

Well done to Charlotte and Ruth who are our latest swimmers of the week!

Thursday 11th June - Raising money for Save The Children Den Day was hard work but really enjoyable. The children, along with our adult helpers did an absolutely brilliant job. Our finished den is an example of what we can achieve when we work as a team. What a great afternoon!

Thursday 11th June - Today Y3 were busy den building in woodland off the Bridal Stile. They were helped by the Sheffield Countryside Planning Department and created a camouflaged den to be proud of. Well done Y3.

Tuesday 9th June - Outside Springs Leisure Centre before our swimming lesson.

Well done Olivia, our Swimmer of the Week!

Monday 8th June - Here are some of us talking about friendship in a P4C (Philosophy for Children) session as part of our Relationships education. We were considering statements about friendship and deciding whether we agreed or disagreed with them. We shared some interesting thoughts.

A busy Monday of health Week included the challenge of the climbing wall!

What a start to our Health Week with an outside 'Wake Up and Shake Up' led by Liam at Excel martial arts. The children were incredibly enthusiastic and inspired to exercise!

Here are our clay coil pots inspired by the designs of Ancient Greece. Watch out for our Greek learning journeys which are coming to the website soon.

Well done Lily and Caitlin who are our last two swimmers of the week for this term. More swimming after the holiday!

Congratulations to Harrison who was swimmer of the week!

Have a look below at the photos from our magnets workshop, run by university students Samson and Fran. During the session the children explored magnetic materials, learned about the terms 'repel and attract' and even explored making a motor. The children gained an understanding of the varied uses of magnets in the wider world and we are looking forward to completing some follow up learning on this interesting topic.

Y3 Banyan continue to improve their swimming skills every Tuesday. Congratulations to Grace and Sophie who have both been awarded 'swimmer of the week'. Well done especially to Sophie who has been awarded the title twice!

Y3 BANYAN

Greek Culture Morning

Today, 16th April, Helen and Dennis from the Greedy Greek Deli visited Y3 to help us find out more about Greece. Our morning included, learning the Greek language, discovering more about the Gods, Greek dancing and even looking at traditional Greek clothing. We were also lucky enough to try some authentic Greek food which included meat balls, spinach pies, falafels and humous. Efharisto to the Greedy Greek Deli for a fun and exciting morning. A special 'Yiamas!' to Mr Walker for being a good sport!

Banyan

Y3 Banyan began their school swimming lessons at Springs Leisure Centre in February. Each week the swimming coaches choose someone who has shown perseverance, enthusiasm and excellent listening to be the 'Swimmer of the week'. Here are our first 3 award holders. A big well done to them for an excellent attitude towards their swimming lessons.

Bradley has received the award twice!

24th March 2015

Y3 Banyan have met their class target of 'being a better friend'! Their reward, chosen by themselves, was to make themselves a bun! Here they are in action...
